About The Book

beauty

“In the age of the Faerie Queen, Elizabeth I, a period of ruffles and lace, of wrought velvet and blanched satins, two newborn babes are cursed, one with unimaginable beauty and the other, in its mirror image, a beast.

But how could beauty ever be a curse?

Not only will all be blind to Beau’s true self, for all will lust after him but none will have the power to see past such an enchanted face – but the curse shall cause his own father’s death.

Meanwhile the beast, Randa, is locked away in her father’s cellar – lonely and hidden away. She longs for love, but how could anyone ever see past her wings and beak and fierce talons?

Is it possible that these two cursed creatures, each the mirror image of the other, could be one another’s salvation when all hope is lost?”

What I Thought

I was so looking forward to reading The Beauty of the Wolf I mean that cover is something else, I love Beauty and the Beast and found the idea of a gender reversal story fascinating. The writing was beautifully poetic so I found it somewhat jarring how a lot of the first half of the book focuses on sex with lots of C words thrown in willynilly (pun intended) which just didn’t fit with the flowery style of writing. I’ve nothing against sex in books but I think the main thing was I just wasn’t expecting quite so much of it and so it didn’t mesh well for me, the chapter on the penis had me choking on my tea! The second half of the book was far more appealing and I think if it had of just led from there I would have enjoyed it a lot more because it was more how I expected the story to go. It had so much in it that was great but for me the other stuff just took away from it, just didn’t quite tickle my pickle but sure look if you need a distraction that will give you a giggle then get a glass of wine and settle in (just don’t spit it out when you get to the penis chapter!)

I just know loads of you are going to read this now for the penis chapter lol

Many thanks again to Lily from HQStories for having me on this tour, all opinions are my own and I am not paid to give them.
