Welcome to another review in Abigail’s book nook. This review is on The Worst Thing About My Sister by Jacqueline Wilson.
So this book is about two sisters who constantly fight! Marty is the main character and she hates her big sister. Melissa loves girly things, while Marty prefers to be a tomboy. Can these two very different sisters ever get along?
“Being a sister isn’t always easy . . . but what’s the very worst thing about your sister?
Marty and her sister Melissa couldn’t be more different. Marty loves her Converse trainers, playing football, hiding in her secret den and helping her dad with his DIY. But Melissa loves Justin Bieber and all things pink, girly and pretty.
The sisters can manage to live together, despite their occasional scraps but then Mum tells them they have to share a room. For Marty, having to share her bunk beds and lose her private sanctuary turns out to be the very worst thing about having a sister. But the girls soon discover that being too close for comfort can have unexpected consequences, and when an accident happens, the sisters realise they are closer than they thought.”
This book is fantastic, I think it is a wonderful read for kids and adults. I thought this was very funny and it’s full of jokes and pranks that made the book even better! I think Marty and Melissa fight so much because they are so different. My favourite character is actually the Dad. He’s so kind to his two daughters even though they cause him trouble. So the Dad is my fave character. My least favourite character is Melissa. She always teases Marty and makes fun of her. Not an ideal sister! I’m glad my sister isn’t like Melissa.. most of the time!
See you next time in… Abigail’s book nook!
Awesome review, Abigail! You say it is a wonderful read for kids and adults; well, I’m a big kid pretending to be an adult! So you’ve convinced me to buy this book and give it a read. I’ll let you know what I think after I’ve read it. π

Iβve read it! That was great! I love Martyβs sassy ways. I think Iβd also prefer to stay in my bedroom and draw rather than go to a party with people I donβt like! All the food descriptions made me rather hungry. I donβt like Ingrid, Alisha, and Katie. They are horrible girls. But it was funny when they got eggs thrown at them! ππ
