I loved Christina’s The Mermaid so I was really looking forward to reading The Girl In Red and just wow this book is fantastic! Did someone say fairytale apocalypse? Um hell yeah! The Girl In Red is such a treat you’ll want to sink your teeth in and devour it whole! This isn’t your normal fairytale retelling, it’s dark and scary (how fairytales used to be) and is about survival when all of the odds are against you.. as it says on the back “Red doesn’t like to think of herself as a killer, but she isn’t about to let herself get eaten up just because she is a woman alone in the woods..”

A thoroughly engaging read, perfect if you love re-tellings but also perfect if you enjoy a good apocalypse survival tale.
