Blog Tour: Killing State by Judith O’Reilly

Hello and welcome to my stop on the LoveBooksGroup blog tour for Killing State by Judith O’Reilly.

Many thanks to Kelly and Head of Zeus for sending me a copy of the book to review for this tour.

About The Book

Michael North, assassin and spy-for-hire, is very good at killing bad guys. But what happens when his shadowy bosses at the dark heart of the post-Brexit British government, order him to kill an innocent woman and North can’t bring himself to do it?
The woman is rising political star, Honor Jones, MP.  She has started asking dangerous questions about the powerful men running her country. The trouble is, Honour doesn’t know when to stop. And, now that he’s met her, neither does North…”

What I Thought

Well this was just superb, utterly captivating, within the first 4 chapters I was already telling himself all about it. I mean we all know about MI5 and the secret service so really what would be surprising about a secret branch of the government, hidden from the government itself, which is called The Board and is made up of powerful people who hire hitman to take out anyone that threatens the establishment, anyone who asks too many questions, anyone who poses a risk in any way. What happens then when your most trusted hitman suddenly says no and he starts asking questions?

Argh it was just so good. Now its a big book took me just over 8 hours to get through but I took my time and did it in stages because I was enjoying it so much, even though I was on the edge of my seat dying to know what would happen. And I’m going to just say, that last line though… OMG Yes!

I want a movie with Michael North in it, ruthless killer with a bullet in his head who has a change of heart, hell yes! Actually if I try to picture him I kind of get the image of Jason Statham, eh I’ll take that thanks. Book 2 Curse the Day another Michael North book comes out in December and honestly if I could just read it now that would be great thanks!

A high-octane action packed thriller I highly recommend it.

Many thanks again to Kelly and Head of Zeus, all opinions are my own and I am not paid to give them.
