Hello and welcome to our Summer scrapbook.
I want to make an actual scrapbook but I can’t seem to find the time to start it just yet so I thought why not share it on the blog. We are 2 weeks into the summer holidays, I’m working 3 days a week at the moment so on my days off we have been out and about making the most of the sunshine. So far we have gone to a food festival, I’ve been out to dinner with my work friends, we have had lots of ice cream and walks by the sea.
We took a walk out to our library and signed up for the Summer Stars Reading programme where they have to read 8 books during the summer. Each book they read earns them a stamp and some other little prizes along the way, at the end of it they will each get a certificate. The girls took part last summer and really enjoyed it. My eldest is working her way through the works of Jacqueline Wilson and the youngest is reading all of The Diary Of A Wimpy Kid Series.
We had friends over for a play date, rainbows were drawn on the paths in chalk, picnics in the garden and playing hide and seek in the trees. We’ve had quiet days spent reading or watching Netflix just chilling out and taking time to recharge. Lots of BBQ burgers have been eaten with burnt sausages and cans of fizzy orange and Vanilla Coke for me!
Today is one of our chill out days, it’s cloudy out but still very warm. I’m not sure what we’ll be up to this week it depends on the weather but I’ll fill you in next Sunday.
Wonderful pictures. Looks like you’re having a fab summer!

Great pictures.. now I really want some churros too.. it’s been so long since I ate those! So great to hear the library is really taking such great initiatives.. I don’t think they do something special in the summer holidays here. Must be so cool to see that you have kids who like to read too :-)!
