Drift Stumble Fall by @MJonathanLee #teamhideaway @HideawayFall

This is such a beautifully heartbreaking story, completely captivating and sadly relatable. It’s a true showing of how we think the grass is always greener on the other side and the reality that we never truly know what goes on in people’s lives behind closed doors.

Someones life may look idyllic, perfect even.. so much so you would want to swap places with them, all the while they’re looking back at you and thinking they’d rather have your perfect looking life.

Thank you to Hideaway Fall for sending me a copy of Drift Stumble Fall by M. Jonathan Lee to review, it really took me by surprise I wasn’t sure what to expect but I loved it and it’s definitely a book I will read again and recommend.

“Richard Brown has had enough of his life of commitment, resentment, routine and responsibility. Staring out of his window, he enviously observes the tranquil life of Bill, the neighbour living in the bungalow across the road. From his lounge, Bill keenly watches as Richard’s young family grows.

Yet underneath the apparent domestic bliss of both lives are lies, secrets, imperfections, sadness and suffering far greater than either could have imagined. As the two men watch each other from afar, it soon becomes apparent that the other people’s lives are never what they seem.”

Everyone thinks everyone else has it altogether but really all of us are just drifting along, stumbling through until eventually things fall into place. You suddenly realise that everything you wanted, everything you longed for has been right in front of you all along and we tend to take things for granted not truly realising what life would be like if we lost all of the people and things in it that make our life what it is.

Drift Stumble Fall has really struck a chord with me and actually I think it will with a lot of parents and people who suffer from anxiety in particular. Sadly and guiltily we all dream of an escape at some point when it all becomes too much, totally overwhelming, its hard to find the joy in it all. But you have to find it, create it, nurture it, before it’s too late.

Nobody elses life is perfect, we are all just trying to get through each day. Everyone should read this book, it’s almost poetic the way that its told, like a diary, you get the full run through of the day, the emotions, the mundane and the absolute joy to be found. You’ll be surprised how easily this story sucks you in. I absolutely loved it and I highly recommend it.

Drift Stumble Fall by @MJonathanLee will be released on the 12th of April and is available to preorder now in Paperback and Kindle.

  1. Great review!
I finished this one a couple of days ago but I am still mulling over it and gathering my thoughts. Essentially all that this book is, you’ve stated and perfectly. It is completely relatable on so many levels, this read!
Have you read Broken Branches by Lee? If not, I would 100% recommend this one, too.
